Why we publish one price and stick to it

The most common question we get from first-time visitors isn't about range or charging. It's some version of: okay, but what's the real price?

The answer is the number on the listing. That's the whole system, and it's worth explaining why it works — because 'no-haggle' has been used as a slogan by enough dealerships that healthy skepticism is fair.

Haggling is a cost, not a discount

Traditional dealerships price cars high and pay a team of closers to negotiate down — buyer by buyer, hour by hour. That overhead is baked into every deal. The people best at negotiating pay less, and everyone else quietly subsidizes them.

We price every car against live market data the week it's listed, publish the number, and pay our specialists a salary instead of a commission. Nobody in the building earns a dollar more if you pay a dollar more — which is exactly how we want it.

What happens if the market moves

Prices get reviewed weekly against the same data we bought with. If the market drops, the listing drops — even if you were in yesterday looking at the old number. The price never moves after you walk in, and it never moves up because you seemed interested. That's the deal.

"West Coast's #1 EV dealership" and "top-rated" reflect Diplomat Motors' cumulative sales volume and aggregated customer review ratings across our two Portland-area galleries; they are not an independent or third-party ranking. The 150-point inspection is Diplomat Motors' internal reconditioning checklist and is not a warranty, guarantee, or certification of future performance; unless a written warranty or service contract is provided at sale, used vehicles are sold as-is.

Advertised prices exclude taxes, title, license and registration fees, a $795 anti-theft fee, and a $200 document fee. Finance incentives require financing arranged through Diplomat Motors and are subject to lender approval. Payment figures and trade-in estimates are informational estimates only — not offers of credit or firm appraisals. Vehicle condition, mileage, range, availability, and pricing are subject to change and may contain errors; please verify all details with the gallery before purchase.
